The Teletriage Service offers rapid clinical assessment remotely utilising both Telephone and Skype Video conferencing. It replaces the need for care homes to call the 111 service.
If a care home is concerned about a resident, they contact the Teletraige service. Using Skype, the senior nurse carries out a virtual and rapid clinical assessment of the patient to determine the treatment required. Following this, they will coordinate the appropriate care for the resident ideally in the comfort of their own care home.
Working this way residents are given the care and treatment they require in their own familiar and comfortable environment, rather than facing the frightening and disruptive prospect of ambulances and hospital departments.
